The style and craftsmanship are unlike any other, and ... so is the price. Back in April at High Point I was fortunately enough to see this bed in person, the exquisite tailoring, attention to detail and the layers of fabric used in that canopy was unlike anything I've ever seen. Lucky for us… canopy beds come in all shapes, sizes and price tags. Keep scrolling to find more inspiration for your bedroom. One way to achieve the look- go custom, like this one. No details were spared when designing this bed. Or how about an iron or wood version that’s a little less dramatic for a guest room or kid’s room. Not only is the color combination attractive, but so it the bold striped canopy that can instantly add drama and draw your eye up. I would feel so fancy sleeping in this bed! If you are on a budget, not to worry- You can achieve the same look by hanging rods from your ceiling and beautiful soft draperies. This is the perfect solution for someone who might be afraid to commit to the traditional canopy bed frame, you can easily take it down whenever you've had enough! 100 comments Links to this post July 26, 2013 Accessory Styling 8:00 AM | Posted by Meg Do you ever get overwhelmed when it comes to decorating/styling your bookshelves and table tops? We love helping our clients style and accessorize their shelves and surfaces! Recently we loaded up our cars and took a lot of pretty things over to one of our favorite houses to 'fluff'. It was so much fun not only for us to watch the room become complete, but also for the clients, who love to see it transformed right before their eyes! When we left she emailed me that she couldn't believe her living room had been totally accessorized by us in under two hours! I really love when homes look collected over time, and have a hard time going out to buy items at big box stores to decorate with just to add something on a shelf. I like accessories to have some purpose and sentiment. When it came to these shelves we collected quite a few things from various antique and thrift stores. I mixed high and low, for example some of the higher priced items were alabaster grapes and an antique French confit pot. We found inexpensive old books at a local thrift store along with odd pieces of old china. Unfortunately I forgot to snap a picture of one of the tables, but we layered an antique gold mirror against the wall with a vintage floral painting in front of it. The French confit pot worked perfectly on its own on the right side to the table, and it can be used as a great vase when entertaining. On the coffee table we stacked lots of big books, they all have beautiful photography and interesting subjects. We added an orchid in an old pot with a green patina that is easy to maintain. There is a faux tortise tray with a candle and some pretty monogrammed cocktail napkins. We found a pair of Swedish cabinets at Round Top a couple of years ago that flank a big front window. Now they are full of old books, English China, black and white family photos, an old Italian leather box, a Chinese blue and white ginger jar and other pieces of small Japanese pottery. Don't forget bookends! I loved adding the coral for another pop of color. All of our projects are in different phases at the moment, but this one was particularly fun to watch unfold because it felt so homey and finished after all of these pretty items were installed! 33 comments Links to this post July 24, 2013 Houston Tidbits 10:12 AM | Posted by Meg Sorry for our delayed absence! It has been a crazy past few months. I'm almost into my third trimester of our second pregnancy, we've moved back to Houston, I've renovated and moved LeSueur Interiors into a studio space and have welcomed with open arms my new assistant Amanda! I hope to be back to regular blogging very soon! We have so many exciting things to report on! Thank you to Houston Tidbits for posting this great picture of Julian's nursery yesterday. You can read the article here. When I was 10 weeks pregnant with Julian I found this piece of Tara Conley art, thanks to my friend Kathy over at Dimmit Contemporary Art. I immediately fell in love and knew I had to have it for our baby's nursery. Now that we're expecting number two and our two little ones will be sharing this room, I wish it said, "I love you both more than I know how to"!! 34 comments Links to this post Older Posts Subscribe to: Posts (Atom) Subscribe!
